Abandoned Morris

We discovered off a side road an old gas station that had some interesting architectural details and an unusual colour scheme. The old paint coming off the door added texture.

Further down the same road we found abandoned buildings, a church, school and forgotten equipment – including a British made Morris. It was sitting in the yard behind the church, completely stripped and forgotten.

Deserted barn in a field of Canola

Deserted barn in a field of Canola

We found this wonderful working grain elevator in Indian Head, a small prairie town in Saskatchewan. The white clad surfaces offered us some interesting textures and strong shadows against an endless blue sky. Had a wonderful lunch at a restaurant in Indian Head, called the ‘Craft Tea Elevator’ where Harry had Flapper Pie (Prairie Pie) and Helen had Saskatoon Pie.

We later came across an abandoned lonely barn in a field of bright yellow Canola.
